| Details: |
This is the largest LRC in the UK, having a floor area of about 10,000m2. There is provision for 1,800 computers, and about 10km of library shelving. The building was completed within cost and on time, and opened in September 1997.
The main structure is of reinforced concrete, and the barrel vault roof is steel framed. Work included the surrounding car parks. |
